Touchpoints

"The basis of the Touchpoints Model is the parent-provider relationship, a relationship rooted in the 'touchpoints' they work through together."

Touchpoints are what Dr. T. Berry Brazelton, a known expert in the field of pediatrics, has dubbed the often difficult time periods for parents when their children are going through developmental spurts. For parents of children with special needs, these times can be even less predictable and more confusing. Brazelton's approach instructs parents and professionals to reach out to each other and take advantage of these time periods to develop a lasting relationship.

Since the Touchpoints Model coincides with many of Lanterman's own core values, we decided to employ the model to reach out to professionals in our community. For more information, visit the Touchpoints Web site at http://www.touchpoints.org/sites/losangeles.html.
