Perspectives to Host Pre-Reception Before DSALA's Premiere Screening of "Mr. Blue Sky" on March 9
The Down Syndrome Association of Los Angeles invites you to join them at the premiere screening of "Mr. Blue Sky," a ground-breaking film that explores the romantic relationship of a woman born with Down syndrome and a "normal" male, as perceived by today's society. The screening will be held at Fox Studios, Zanuck Theatre, on Friday, March 9, 2007 at 7 p.m. The film features three actresses born with Down syndrome, Ashley Wolfe, Lauren Potter and Katelyn Reed. Please join DSALA in this celebration of film, followed by a question and answer session with the director, writer and stars; and a pre-reception hosted by the Perspectives International Film Festival. The pre-reception will be held at Fox Studios at 5:30 p.m. You can find more information about this event on the DSALA Web site at www.dsala.org. KEEN Los Angeles to Host Spring Festival on March 18
Kids Enjoy Exercise Now Los Angeles will be hosting its Spring Festival on Sunday, March 18 from noon to 3 p.m. The event is for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and their siblings and parents. The event will be held at the Elysian Park Therapeutic Recreation Center located at 929 Academy Road, Los Angeles, CA 90012 and will feature an egg hunt, face painting, balloons, story time, music, food, drinks and many more fun activities. Jay Nolan Community Services is Recruiting Children Without Disabilities for its Inclusive Summer Camp
Jay Nolan Community Services will once again be holding its fully inclusive camp this summer, and is currently recruiting children without disabilities between the ages of 8 to 15 years. The cost for a six-day and five-night camp is only $300 for the week, and if the family is a Medi-Cal recipient or meets eligible family income requirements then the cost drops to $75 for the week.

Grant Money from the City of Pasadena's Housing Office Available to Fund Exterior Accessibility Modifications
The city of Pasadena's Housing Office has grant money available to fund accessibility modifications to the "exteriors" of renter-occupied housing units in Pasadena. The money is from a state housing program called EAGR. Accessibility modifications that can be funded include ramps, walkways, handrails, Braille and raised character labels, entrance intercoms, and whatever else is exterior to the living quarters of a rented apartment, condo or house.
