Learn More About Lanterman’s Service Provider Advisory Committee and Attend Monthly SPAC Meetings

Dear Lanterman Service Provider,

The purpose of this letter is to invite you to join us at the monthly meetings held by Lanterman Regional Center’s Service Provider Advisory Committee (SPAC). Meetings are generally held on the first Wednesday of the month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

SPAC provides input and feedback to the regional center on policy, procedures and budget issues that may affect how services are provided to regional center clients and their families. Attending SPAC meetings also gives you the opportunity to get up to date information on what is happening in our community. Topics may include legislative, advocacy and budget updates, as well as quality assurance and training opportunities. It is also an opportunity to hear from other service providers and discuss common issues.

SPAC meets at a different location each month to give us the opportunity to see a variety of programs. We encourage non-SPAC members to consider hosting one of our meetings. The Committee is comprised of providers representing the geography of the Lanterman catchment area, as well as the various services provided to regional center clients. This enables us to stay at the forefront of what might be happening in those arenas if advocacy efforts are necessary or to further educate the community about the different and innovative programs offered in the Lanterman community.

Members are appointed to a two-year term, with five members appointed each year. Members may serve a maximum of 10 years. The SPAC chair also sits on the Lanterman Regional Center Board of Directors.
