The presentation will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Lanterman. Hosted by Lanterman’s Early Intervention Parent Support Group, the presentation will also be translated into Spanish. Simply visit lanterman.org and click on “Subscribe” to provide us with your e-mail address. You will automatically be signed up to receive e-mail bulletins about information related to Lanterman Regional Center’s general activities and events. You can also sign up for bulletins about a specific topic, such as legislative issues, or bulletins specific to a certain age, disability or area, by providing us with additional information. No information collected will be given to anyone outside of Lanterman; it’s just for the purpose of sending targeted e-mails to the Lanterman community. There are many events, including valuable trainings and workshops, we at the Center hear about, but due to limited financial resources, we cannot mail flyers for each of these events. July 11 ~ Toddler Talk Series Starts Douglas Speech Associates and Lanterman present Toddler Talk, a six-session parent/child summer speech program designed for children 2 to 3 1/2 years of age, starting Thursday, July 11, 2013 through August 15, 2013 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Lanterman. Parents will learn tips and techniques from Bailey Duemmel, MA CCC SLP (experienced in ASL and AAC), to build language skills and the program will feature, environmental sounds; letters, numbers, colors; animals; the city; food; and active bodies. Program made possible by a contribution from the Fred and June MacMurray Foundation.

July 12 ~ Baby Play Days for Children Birth to 2 Years of Age Come and join the Koch-Young Resource Center for a monthly play day for children birth to 2 years of age and their parents. Enjoy access to KYRC toys and play equipment, while getting to know other families. The play days will be held on the second Friday of every month at Lanterman Regional Center: - Friday, July 12, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - Friday, August 2, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (note: this is the first Friday) Contact the KYRC at 213.252.5600 or kyrc@lanterman.org for more information or to advise of your attendance at the play days. July 24 ~ Children’s Nature Institute’s Wonder Mobile Comes to Lanterman The Children's Nature Institute's Wonder Mobile is coming to Lanterman's Koch-Young Resource Center - bringing nature to you on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 3 p.m. This special event, made possible by CNI, will feature their one-of-a-kind traveling classroom through which environmental educators teach children between the ages of 2 and 5 years lessons via a natural artifact collection and live animals.
