July 11 ~ Toddler Talk Series Starts

Douglas Speech Associates and Lanterman present Toddler Talk, a six-session parent/child summer speech program designed for children 2 to 3 1/2 years of age, starting Thursday, July 11, 2013 through August 15, 2013 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Lanterman.

Parents will learn tips and techniques from Bailey Duemmel, MA CCC SLP (experienced in ASL and AAC), to build language skills and the program will feature, environmental sounds; letters, numbers, colors; animals; the city; food; and active bodies.

Program made possible by a contribution from the Fred and June MacMurray Foundation.

Space is limited, registration required.

July 12 ~ Baby Play Days for Children Birth to 2 Years of Age

Come and join the Koch-Young Resource Center  for a monthly play day for children birth to 2 years of age and their parents. Enjoy access to KYRC toys and play equipment, while getting to know other families.

The play days will be held on the second Friday of every month at Lanterman Regional Center:

- Friday, July 12, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

- Friday, August 2, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (note: this is the first Friday)

July 24 ~ Children’s Nature Institute’s Wonder Mobile Comes to Lanterman

The Children's Nature Institute's Wonder Mobile is coming to Lanterman's Koch-Young Resource Center - bringing nature to you on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 3 p.m.

This special event, made possible by CNI, will feature their one-of-a-kind traveling classroom through which environmental educators teach children between the ages of 2 and 5 years lessons via a natural artifact collection and live animals.

You must register in order to attend this event and space is limited.
