California law and regulation requires that regional centers display on their Web sites information about the dollar value of services they purchase for clients. These data (called "purchase of service" or "POS" data) must be reported separately by clients' ethnic/racial group, langauge and diagnosis.
Benefits and Employment in 2013: MediCal, Medicare, Social Security and SSI
The "Benefits and Employment in 2013" workshop focuses on the key points of title II benefits (aka: Social Security, SSDI, CDB, RSDI) and title XVI benefits (SSI). It has enabled human services professionals to provide accurate advice to their customers, the next day, for 18 years. It has enabled individuals with disability to make informed decisions and significantly increase their self-sufficiency.
Many people do not understand how wages, unearned income, and resources effect medical benefits and continuing entitlement to Social Security benefits and/or eligibility for SSI benefits. The focus of the workshop is on demonstrating how a beneficiary can make an informed choice of earning significant income and still qualify for medical benefits and cash benefits, rather than pursue the commonly held perception that people must limit their income to protect their benefits.
