4th Annual Re-Thinking Autism Conference: Neurobiology, Technology, Policy, Community
This conference hosted by Vista Del Mar will focus on issues in autism related to neurobiology, technology, policy and community.
Participants will gain in their abilities to evaluate developmental treatment approaches, understand learning styles and support individual communication skills in individuals with autism spectrucm disorder. at all ages.
After completing the program, participants will be able to:
- Describe the basic neurobiological and genetic concepts for autism risk and limitations of new research information.
- Explain the fundamentals of atypical social and communication/language development for children who are diagnosed with a autism.
- Summarize the importance of technology and individual participation in choosing activities that result in improved communication, increased socialization and abilities for employment.
- Discuss public policy and legislation designed to improve the delivery of services over the lifespan of those persons diagnosed with autism including speech and language services and the use of technology.
